Bruce originally founded Appropriate Balance—and began working with clients as a fiduciary advisor—33 years ago. He believed that in order to best serve clients, a firm should be unbiased in its advice, independent, and able to manage the widely varying needs of its clientele in an ever-more-rapidly changing world. Bruce is passionate about helping people build and maintain their wealth so they can spend their time on family, their own interests, and philanthropy.
Bruce began his career in the investment business more than 38 years ago, and less than three years later earned the Certified Financial Manager designation from the Donald T. Regan School of Advanced Financial Management. Prior to that, he studied business at Brigham Young University. Bruce was on the faculty of the American Association of Senior Physicians for twelve years (until it was acquired by the AMA); he wrote a column in their newsletter and spoke at their conferences around the country about risk management and the financial changes coincident with retirement.
