Doug loves to work with clients to solve their financial planning and investment management needs. He specializes in working with professional practitioners and business owners. Such planning often necessitates that a client’s practice or business plan is in alignment with their long-term personal financial goals. In addition to investment management, his areas of focus include retirement and estate planning as well as risk management. Doug often collaborates with a client’s CPA and/or estate planning attorney to help ensure that their financial plan takes into account their complete financial picture.
Before joining ABFS, now Viridian, in 2011, Doug worked as a Financial Consultant and Vice President with Charles Schwab for 15 years. Prior to embarking on his career in finance, he worked for several years in the fine wine industry and served in the U.S. Army. In addition to holding a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from University of Maryland University College, he holds the Certified Financial Planner™ designation. We are proud that Seattle Magazine named him a “Five Star Wealth Manager, Best in Client Satisfaction” in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.
Doug currently serves on the board of the Alpine Educational Foundation, and formerly served on the board of the Puget Sound Christian Clinic. In his spare time, Doug enjoys reading classical literature and studying the Russian and Spanish languages. He is an avid soccer fan and outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, running, snowshoeing, cycling and kayaking. He lives in Lake Forest Park with his wife Nicole and their energetic golden retriever.
